Wednesday, October 19th, 2005Emailing from China is a breeze. Well, nicotine-heavy and spice-laden, but yes, still a breeze. There’s an internet cafe just across our hotel in the, ahem, wrong side of town. I’m on the second floor, a whole loft of around 350 units with everyone huddled around their business. I was afraid the characters would be in Chinese, so I enlisted the help of someone who was here the night before. Thus, the breeze.
Do you think some people are made of the same soul? I met another one in the strain, and as is usual in my case, I didn’t even have to lift a finger. Like ridges on a gasket to another, everything locked and was in place before I even realized it. Now it’s like perfect clockwork. Why am I being so damn cryptic about it? He’s in my network and I don’t want him to know, hahahaha.
Tomorrow is our last day here, and I have to do a little bit of preening for the camera before we can call it a wrap. By the weekend I’ll be back in Cebu and breathing the same air he is
